Podcast/Vodcast Project
- You have already listened to a few shows at http://teachersteachingteachers.org
- You looked at Horizon Report for some more ideas.
- You have blog posted topics you would be interested in exploring in the same format.
- We have assigned groups based on your interests.
Now, it is time to get started:
- Decide if you want to make an audio or video podcast. You should be thinking about a 2-5 minute “NPR Style” video or audio “story.” Think about your topic and how you can best represent the ideas you want to share.
- Create a blog post (on group member’s blogs) that explains the tools you’ll be using and how you’re going to coordinate the technical aspects of your piece and your projected timeline for project completion. Your timeline should end Thursday, July 22, 8:30 am at the latest. THIS BLOG POST (with your timeline and tech outline) IS DUE TUESDAY MORNING, JULY 20TH. To help with your timeline, you should know that you will have Monday afternoon, Tuesday morning, and Wednesday morning in class to work on this project.
- Research your topic.
- Outline/storyboard and then script your plans. You might want to look at the results from a Youtube “storyboarding” search to get started. Remember, 2-5 minute “NPR Style” video or audio story. This is NOT just a collection of facts, there should be a narrative quality to it. Post the outline/storyboard and script on your group’s blog pages. THIS BLOG POST IS DUE WEDNESDAY MORNING, JULY 21S
- Record or shoot your project, re-record or shoot your project, then record or shoot your project again
Edit your project, re-edit your project, then edit your project again…We expect your final version to be “clean” audio (and video if appropriate) with a “nice narrative/conceptual flow” to it and a sense of “quality” in the whole. How do you like them rubric apples? - Make your final project available as a “podcast.” The lab here should help you do this (ignore the performance tasks at the bottom, this is just to help you walk through setting up your media as a podcast). A BLOG POST WITH YOUR FINAL PROJECT IS DUE ON EACH GROUP MEMBERS BLOG BY 8:30 AM ON THURSDAY, JULY 22ND.
