Personal Learning Portfolio Assignment

Assignment Description:

You will keep all of the work you create in this space. You will share it with your instructors, your MAET colleagues and the world.

The portfolio will be includes six essential parts.
1) An introductory page that describes who you are and the work you do. This page will include the introductory presentation that you create on the first day of the MAET Dublin program.
2) A list of tools that you use with helpful descriptions of their affordances and constraints for learning in your area of expertise (e.g., literacy, math, social studies, art, music, physical and health education etc.)
3) A list of hyperlinks to web-based resources that you have found to be helpful with short descriptions of their value to teachers.
4) A blog in which you document your thoughts and new understandings during the MAET program. You will need to complete a minimum of 3 blog posts during the face to face portion, and 4 during the online portion of the course.
5) Links to all other work you create during the first-year program.
6) A final mirror/window reflection with a multi-media element. The goal is to think about where you have come from (look in the mirror) and where you are going (look through the window) as a teacher and a learner, but the way this part of the assignment looks will be up to you. You may choose to add a new page to your site, or edit your introductory page.  It could look like a technology/teaching philosophy page, or a blog post, or something else.

Other pages, widgits and resources that you choose to include in your portfolio will be left to your discretion. We encourage you to personalize this space and make it the best representation of who you are as a teacher who integrates technologies in thoughtful ways.
